Football Toss Game
Football toss games are an excellent way to entertain company,
socialize, or give bored children something to do. The simple rules of
play and easy setup make these games fun to play, and each
game comes bearing the logo of your choice of team.
Also known as “redneck golf” or “ladder toss,” the premise of this
football toss game is an easy one, and lots of fun to play once you get
the playing field set up. The “ball” is actually two balls, tied
together by a short length of rope and typically referred to as a bolo.
The object is to toss your bolo at your opponents goal, wrap the rope
around one of the poles to score points. Each horizontal pole has a
different point value: three points for the top rung, two points for the
middle, and one for the bottom.
Typically, a football toss game ends when a person or team scores
twenty-one points, however these points must be scored exactly, as in
blackjack. If a toss sends a team over twenty-one points, the toss is
automatically disqualified. In addition, landing a bolo on the same rung
as an opposing teams bolo automatically cancels out the points earned
from that rung for both teams. Teams take turn throwing bolos until the
end of each round, when all bolos are thrown, and take score at that
point. The game goes on until a winner is determined.

Football Toss GamesThese games are excellent diversions and can be played in most
backyards. With the logo of your favorite team displayed on the base of
the football toss game, it will make an excellent addition to any sports
party, especially play-off parties and Superbowl bashes. The ability to
play solo or in teams means that nobody will get left out of the fun as
long as there’s more than one person playing, but don’t make the
mistake of thinking that solo versions of the game aren’t fun in their
own right.
This game is a great addition to your Superbowl party, backyard cookout,
or holiday gathering, and in addition to the core game, there are
several other kinds of games that can be played on the ladder. This is a
great game for people who aren’t huge fans of horseshoes or other
traditional outdoor games, and is a great way to inspire hours of
competitive fun.
Typically, these football toss games are meant to be played with two
teams. While one unit will provide enough for two teams to play, an
optimal football toss playing field has two goals. Buy the logos of your
two favorite teams for display, or buy ladder units with the logos of
the teams playing in that days game. With two goals, there are also many
other variations on the game such as speed toss, where players try to
rack up points quicker than the other team, and elimination rules, where
the lowest scoring player each round is removed until one remains.
Whether you play everyday, or every Memorial Day, these football toss
games will be sure to provide hours of fun, entertainment, and lots of
great memories for you and your friends and family.
